Video length limits and the long-form unlock
Updated 9 September 2026
Each plan processes videos up to a set length, measured per video, not per month:
- Free: up to 1 hour.
- Pro: up to 3 hours.
- Pro Max: up to 4 hours.
- Circle: up to 3 hours, for every seat.
If you paste a video longer than your plan handles, kyn tells you before doing any work, and nothing is charged against your monthly captures.
The long-form unlock
When one video is over your cap and you do not want to change plan, a long-form unlock (£2.50, one-off) processes that single video, up to 6 hours long. You buy it right from the prompt that appears, or from the boosts list on the pricing page. If you already own an unlock, the prompt offers to use it instead of charging you again.
One unlock covers one over-cap video. Unlocks never expire, and they are separate from capture-pack credits: an unlock cannot be spent as an extra capture, and a capture credit cannot unlock a long video.
The 6 hour ceiling
kyn cannot process videos longer than 6 hours yet, on any plan, even with an unlock. If you hit this, we say so honestly rather than taking your money for a capture that would fail.
Which limit did I hit?
- "You have used this month's captures" is the monthly quota, not video length. See what counts as a capture.
- "This video is longer than your plan handles" is the per-video length cap; upgrade or unlock.
- "This one is longer than kyn can process" is the 6 hour ceiling; no plan or unlock changes it today.
