What counts as a capture

Updated 9 September 2026

One capture is one video turned into notes. Pasting a link and letting kyn pull the transcript and draft the takeaways uses exactly one capture, whatever the video's length within your plan's limit.

What never uses a capture

  • Re-opening a capture you already made.
  • Editing, keeping, or discarding notes and highlights.
  • Turning takeaways into actions, or ticking them off.
  • Sharing a drop, or reading one someone sent you.

Once a video is in your library, everything you do with it is free.

Monthly limits by plan

  • Free: 5 captures a month.
  • Pro: 50 captures a month.
  • Pro Max: 200 captures a month.
  • Circle: 80 captures per seat each month, pooled across the whole circle.

Your captures refresh at the start of each billing month. The meter in the app shows how many you have used and when they refresh; it stays quiet until you are actually close to the limit.

When you reach your limit

kyn tells you calmly and lets you keep working on anything already started. We never cut off a job that is already running. To keep capturing now you can:

  • Upgrade your plan for more captures every month, or
  • Add a one-off capture pack from £1.50 for a single capture up to £13 for 60. Pack credits never expire, so a single busy month never forces an upgrade.

Both live on the pricing page and in the app when you hit the limit.

Capture credits and long-form unlocks are separate

A capture-pack credit covers one capture beyond your monthly quota. A long-form unlock covers one video longer than your plan's length cap. They are different things and one can never be spent as the other.
