Getting started with kyn brain

kyn brain turns the YouTube videos you watch into notes you actually act on. You paste a link, kyn reads the transcript and drafts the takeaways worth keeping, and you decide what to do with each one. The free plan covers 5 captures a month with no card needed.

Your first capture

1. Sign in with Google. There is no separate password to manage.
2. From your dashboard, choose New capture and paste a YouTube link. Regular videos, Shorts, live streams, and youtu.be links all work.
3. kyn pulls the transcript and drafts the notes. This usually takes a few seconds; longer videos take a little more.
4. Open the capture from your library. You will find a summary, highlights, notes, and suggested actions, each anchored to the moment in the video it came from.

You can also paste a link into the field on the home page before signing in. kyn keeps hold of the link through sign-in and starts the capture as soon as you are in.

What the ✦ mark means

Everything kyn wrote is marked with ✦, so you always know what came from kyn and what came from you. Drafts are a starting point you own, not gospel: keep what matters, edit anything, and discard the rest. kyn drafts only from the video's transcript, which is also why a video needs a usable transcript to be captured.

Acting on what you keep

The point of a capture is not storage. From any takeaway you can:

• Keep it as a highlight or note in your library, findable later.
• Turn it into an action, a concrete next step attached to the video it came from.
• Share it as a drop: one clip and your note on a simple page, no feed and no app for the other person to learn.

kyn is not trying to replace where you write. It is the layer between watching and doing, and it stays calm on purpose: no streaks, no guilt, just what your brain has been working on and the next useful step.
